In October 2011, Vivint Solar was launched as part of the Energy division at Vivint Inc.

Built on the vision of renewable energy, Vivint Solar is dedicated to designing and installing simple, affordable solar solutions. Unlike traditional solar energy systems that require a substantial initial investment, Vivint Solar offers consumers a power purchase agreement (PPA) that enables them to enjoy the benefits of solar with little to no up-front cost.

Todd Pedersen

CEO

Todd Pedersen is the CEO and co-founder of Vivint Inc., one of the leading providers of home technology services in North America. Under his leadership, Vivint has evolved from a groundbreaking idea into one of the fastest-growing home automation, smart grid, and solar companies. In 2010, Todd was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the services category for the Utah Region.

Alex Dunn

COO

Alex Dunn is the chief operating officer at Vivint Inc. With extensive experience starting and building successful companies, Alex has taken Vivint from a local, door-to-door business to a nationally recognized home technology services company in five short years. Alex is well known for his contributions to the growth of the security industry, and Security System News named him one of the industry's top 20 executives under 40 for 2010. Before joining Vivint, Alex founded LavaStorm Technologies and m-Qube, securing millions of dollars in financing. He also served as chief of staff to Governor Mitt Romney and holds a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University.

Shawn Brenchley

Senior Vice President

Shawn Brenchley is senior vice president and chief recruiting officer at Vivint Inc. Shawn uses his sales expertise and security industry background to successfully manage Vivint's summer sales program. Under Shawn's leadership the summer sales program has experienced 825% customer growth over the last five years. The stability the summer sales program brings to the company has also been critical as Vivint has worked with new investors and transformed into a full-service home technology services company. He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Utah.

Tanguy Serra

President

Tanguy Serra is the president of Vivint Solar. Before joining Vivint Solar, Tanguy worked with TPG in a variety of positions. In 2007, Tanguy moved to Hong Kong to support the China sourcing and execution for TPG and took responsibility for the renewable energy and health care sectors in China. As part of that effort, Tanguy led the investments into HKE (600MW of wind capacity) and Comtec (solar wafers). He then moved to San Francisco to lead TPG's efforts in the renewable space. He is a graduate of ESCP in Paris.

Brendon Merkley

COO

Brendon Merkley is the COO of Vivint Solar. Before joining Vivint Solar, Brendon worked at Goldman Sachs providing market and industry analysis and served in the White House as a director in the Office of Presidential Speechwriting. He also worked in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, creating a department-wide communications plan and leading the development of the new USDA biotechnology website. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Stanford.

Dan Rock

Vice President of Installation

Dan Rock is the vice president of installation at Vivint Solar. In this position he is responsible for streamlining and managing the installation process. Dan started working for Vivint in 2002 and spent two years as a technician and four years as an operations manager. During this time he managed hundreds of technicians, overseeing all aspects of training and licensing. For the past three years he has been a regional technician manager for Vivint. He graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor's in business management and minors in international business and Spanish.

Chance Allred

Vice President of Sales

Chance Allred is the VP of sales at Vivint Solar. In 2000, he started working at Vivint (then APEX Alarm) as one of the first sales reps and became one of the top reps during the two years he knocked doors. He generated sales in Indianapolis, Newark, and Denver as a manager in the summer sales program. After being promoted to regional manager, he led his teams to become one of the highest ranked regions. He was later hired as the director of training and recruiting. Outside of Vivint, Chance has worked as an entrepreneur and as a founder and VP of sales at Platinum Protection, where he was instrumental in acquiring 30,000 accounts in the company's first year of business. Chance holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Southern Utah University.

Brief history

Todd Pedersen saw an opportunity in the security solutions market to sell a high-quality product using a personal approach and founded APX Alarm.

APX expanded to Canada by sending its traditional base of geographically focused teams of sales representatives and installers to residents of Toronto, Ontario.

July

APX signed a $75 million dollar credit facility agreement lead by Goldman Sachs.

Vivint was selected as one of International Customer Management Institute's "Top 50 Call Centers for Customer Service."

APX Alarm grew steadily through the mid-2000s, reaching 20,000 customers by 2004 and 44,000 customers by 2005.

January

The company launched a company-wide rebranding effort to better represent the potential and future direction of the Go!Control panel and the home automation market.

February

APX Alarm changed its name to Vivint.

June

Vivint Solar was launched to provide customers with simple, affordable solar power.

Increased credit facility agreement lead by Goldman Sachs to $440 million.

October

Released the Go!Control panel. The first self-contained, all-in-one security and home management system complete with color LCD touch screen.

December

APX opened its new corporate headquarters in Provo, Utah, "125,000 square foot, state-of-the-art-facility."
