Power purchase agreement
Vivint Solar uses a power purchase agreement (PPA). This means that we retain ownership of your system, but agree to design, install, and maintain your system for free and you agree to purchase the power your panels generate from us. A PPA ensures you can enjoy the benefits of clean, renewable solar energy without having to recoup your investment over 10 to 20 years. You begin enjoying the savings that solar brings immediately.
Essentially, a PPA helps you enjoy the benefits of solar without a large, up-front investment.
Stable electricity rates
Another advantage of the PPA is that it allows you to "lock-in" your electricity schedule for the next 20 years. So no matter how much electricity rates rise, your Vivint Solar rate will be predictable. This can save you thousands of dollars over the life of your agreement.
