How Sunrun Is Managing with COVID-19

Sunrun’s priority is the health and safety of our customers and employees.

We are committed to reducing the risk of COVID-19 while still enabling people to go solar, which provides certainty and safety for families during this uncertain time.

Sunrun’s Safety team is working to ensure that our workforce is following the latest recommendations and requirements from public health authorities. We have established a COVID-19 Task Force that meets weekly to ensure we are up to date with the latest guidance and direction.

"Low-Contact" Solar

Going solar with Sunrun involves much less contact and time than you might think, and much of our work from surveying rooftops, to permitting, to installation, happens behind the scenes.  Sunrun has also invested in technology to limit person-to-person contact. Below are some of the tools we already use:

Sales Consultations

Our sales force can conduct virtual home consultations for customers utilizing video-conferencing technology and Docusign electronic signature tools. Should you prefer these options, please let us know. Our direct-to-home sales approach is flexible and our sales representatives have tools to conduct each component of the process in person or remotely to accommodate customer and employee preferences, and adhere to relevant guidelines.

Technology-Assisted Installation

Similar to our solar consultations, we have invested in technology to streamline our installation processes, including online permitting and interconnection in many locations, as well as utilizing drone technology to complete rooftop surveys where possible. These tools and processes allow us to keep your project moving without needing regular in-person meetings and reviews. We manage everything for you in the background.

COVID-19 is a new and unique challenge, and we’re constantly evaluating guidelines to better protect our customers and employees. For the latest updates on our operations best practices visit here.

What We’re Asking of You

We are also asking our customers to support us in preventing transmission. If you are ill or have recently traveled to severely impacted areas, we will happily accommodate you in transitioning your sales consultation to occur virtually, or rescheduling an installation or site visit when necessary.

During these difficult and uncertain times, we are reminded of how important it is to take the steps necessary to safeguard ourselves and our families. Going solar provides more energy security and gives us peace of mind for the future. We look forward to guiding you through this process.
